Lunar New Year Greetings
A typographic series reimagining traditional Cantonese New Year blessings (拜年) as modern learning tools. These flashcards feature my eight go-to sayings in traditional Chinese characters, designed with playful typography and minimal illustration to help Chinese diaspora connect with cultural traditions with confidence.
Growing up, I would memorize these greetings to recite during family visits, often rushing through them while eyeing the red envelope (利是) that would come my way. This project transforms those childhood memories into a contemporary design that celebrates both language and cultural practice.
