Launched in summer 2020, (Join the) Kaos is a digital media platform featuring carefully curated, value-packed content for its readers, tackling issues concerning the wellbeing of the planet and its people. It is committed to helping the online community navigate through the “inner and outer chaos” by breaking down complex issues so they are easier to digest. Volunteering as the sole designer for the platform, I had the opportunity to rebrand existing identity assets such as the logo, colour palette, typography, inspirational photography (mood boards) and social media look. Since transitioning to an art director role, I’ve continued to work alongside a small team of sustainability specialists to deliver environmentally driven content through initiating research, pitching topics, writing infographic pieces, and visualizing data in a way that accurately reflects the visual identity.
As a self-initiated exploration, I also produced a redesign of the website. By introducing a dynamic grid structure, as seen on the home page (scroll to bottom), I was able to build more movement and energy to the current static one in place. Additionally, through the overlapping of images, I managed to create a better sense of depth across the site.
