Heya! I’m Jenny, a Hong Kong-raised visual designer and strategist based in New York City.
With a BFA in Illustration from Parsons and an MFA in Design for Social Innovation from School of Visual Arts, I've built a creative approach that's equal parts visual craft and strategic thinking. My sweet spot? Creating design that's both beautiful and meaningful – the kind that that makes you stop, understand, and feel something.
I have 6+ years of experience jumping between print, digital, and branding challenges across wildly different landscapes—from HBO's in-house design team to leading nonprofit projects and freelance adventures in fashion and tech. My work spans commercial projects and social impact initiatives, where I apply collaborative methodologies to create designs that foster connection and serve both people and the planet.
Growing up between cultures has shaped my visual storytelling, helping me spot perspectives others might miss. I also have a knack for connecting the dots in complicated systems—weird flex, I know. The values I bring to every project? Commitment (I'll care about your project as much as you do), quick learning (throw me in the deep end—I'll swim), and detail-orientation (because the little things aren't actually little).
When I’m not busy pushing pixels, you can find me bobbing at yet another music gig (feel free to ask me who I’ve seen), reading about the gut microbiome, exploring on solo adventures across the city, evolving my beli obsession, and cheffing it up in the kitchen.
If you fancy working together—whether for a brand, a cause, or something in between—or just feel like waving ‘heyyy’, don’t be shy! Drop me a line at hello@jennylau.org.
